Reno Barn          On the Truckee River northwest of Reno stands a 13,400 s.f. barn built 150 years ago without a single nail – one of five large historic barns left in the State of Nevada.  A master plan was developed to save the barn and put nine homes on the 12-acre site instead of thirty six allowed, and, in the process, saving all 55 mature cottonwood trees. The exterior appearance of the barn will be preserved while weaving a house and guest house within the barn’s structure.  The center section of the roof will be removed allowing sunlight to flood through the open wood structure into vegetable gardens and trees below separating the two houses.
